Recently Reliance Jio or just ‘Jio’ as it is more popularly called has started rolling out 5G services to its users across multiple cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, etc. Moreover, the company is also in the process of setting up infrastructure to implement Jio in smaller towns and cities.
How To Activate Jio 5G On Your Smartphone?
As of right now, the Jio 5G service can only be accessed if you have been specifically invited for it, as the service is currently in the ‘Beta’ stage, meaning testing is going on and bugs/technical issues are being resolved before public release.
As of now, the Jio Welcome Offer is available in a few cities; Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, and five other cities across India. Under this offer, Jio is offering unlimited 5G data with speeds up to 1 Gbps to eligible and selected users. Even if you haven’t been selected for the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ you can still access Jio 5G as long as you meet all the criteria and live in a city that already has the Jio 5G service running.
You do not even have to change your SIM cards, as Jio has confirmed that the 4G SIM cards will also be compatible with the Jio 5G network. Here are the steps that you can follow in order to activate Jio 5G on your device if you have not done so already
How To Activate
Step 1: Go to the ‘Settings’ section of your smartphone.
Step 2: Then navigate to the mobile network settings option on your device.
Step 3: If your phone has two sims, select the Jio sim in mobile network settings.
Step 4: Under the ‘Preferred Network Type’ select the 5G optio.
